I haven't read it in years, but I remember really liking the story as a child. And when my town put on a dramatic stage play I got a small part in it, it was a wonderful time in my life (though I'm no actor). Actually, I bought it last night, a lovely hard-cover illustrated edition. I plan to have lovely editions of all the old childrens classics, since I never did when I was growing up!
